Finding out the price when it's not listed

    Nope. Reserve price is set generally the day before or on the day of the auction.
    The hidden list price is merely a price nominated for sorting and searching on the website. It should be somewhat relatable to Expected Selling Range but that is not guaranteed.

    I went to an auction just now,it was passed in 5k below the price using the trick above. Ill ring the agent (my best mate) later and find out if it sold - i bet it will

    Not necessarily. And many ads specifically state that prices given in the sort process may bear no relation to the actual price. And in an auction, feedback during inspections can influence the price range expected.

    In auctions I have actual knowledge of, the owners gave their reserve to the RE agent at the last minute.

    This is Qld, other states may be different.
