    First post so here we go!
    I have been consumed over the last 12 months by the concept of property investing. I have been listening to a stupid amount of podcast and reading all the info i can. Finally looking at taking the first steps and pulling out some equity on my PPOR to invest in property. I look forward to continually learning and surrounding myself with like minded people.

    Now it's time to go and read through previous posts, it might be a long night ahead.

    To begin, talk to a mortgage broker or preferred financial organisation and find out exactly how much you can borrow.
    This will give you a good idea of the price range you can afford.
    Then you can start to get a bit more specific.

    What others have stated ... tick

    I see you are from GC, start researching info on what is happening in this market and what PC members have to say regarding this market, but also start phoning lots of re agents, find out what is selling, who is buying, how long it is taking to sell.

    From what I am reading it may be close to this market rebounded, I don't know? that is what you need to find out. If it is starting to move/rise may be a good timing and you can capture some quick gains.

    Don't believe everything you read, this is a forum, lots of opinions, its up to you to sift through the information and work out what is fact and what is fiction you can only determine this by contacting people on the ground and doing the hard yards.

    thank you. I am not to concerned about buying locally I am going to keep my options open for purchases in the major cities if the numbers stack up.

    Good, have a look at Melb and in particular look at what investors are doing with land and house packages and areas in outer west and outer north suburbs, there may be opportunities
