NSW FHB SYDNEY

We are a young couple looking to buy our first house in Sydney. Our max budget is around $1m. Currently, we don't have any kids to schooling is not that important at present. We are looking for a decent 300-350m² land size. I work from home most of the time but my wife needs to travel to the city. Our initial preference was north western suburbs but most of the suburbs there are now out of our budget maybe except Riverstone. Last week, we did explore south-western suburbs (oran park, Gregory hills, Edmondson park etc), we liked it especially Oran park but I am bit worried about travel time to the city for my wife. Travel time of around 1-1.15hr is fine.
Please can anyone help us with our search?

Why is that?

 

Yes, we will prefer new houses, few years old is fine. The reason being, we don't want to take that stress of renovating and also we don't that much knowledge of what to exactly check in old houses(pests, drainage etc)
