Have been lurking here on and off for a few years now.

Currently at a stage where now looking to make Melbourne an official home and buy my first place.

Is there a good place to start for finding a good mortgage broker, conveyancer, building/pest inspections?

Start with a broker to set up a plan on what you are looking to achieve (assuming you may want to have a property portfolio one day - correct lender selection is important).

Whilst location shouldn't matter, there are some great Melbourne based brokers on PC.

Read up the forum and see who you relate to.

Thanks. So it’s just a case of reading through posts in the various forums and getting a feel for which brokers seem to offer good advice?

PC brokers are cut above the rest :)

Its more about who you have a fit with.

I think you'll find that all the professionals (including mortgage brokers) that post here regularly are quite competent. Those that aren't good at what they do either get educated or leave very quickly.
