    Hi All,
I have just purchased an existing property in QLD and the rear boundary fence is pretty much non-existent. After settlement I called up my new neighbour to introduce myself and discuss the matter of fencing. He was a friendly guy, but he told me that he has sold his property and the new owners do not settle for another two months. Obviously he does not want to pay for the fence because he has sold the property and he wants to close the book on it. The buyers are non-english speaking foreign investors and their contract is subject to FIRB approval. He has given me the details of their Australian conveyancer.
Has anyone been in a similar situation or can tell me where I stand?? I will be occupying this property and have young children so I need a fence, but I would prefer to avoid paying 100% of the cost.
    Thanks

Send the current neighbour the quotes, if they refuse lodge a caveat.

You must have been pretty scarey such that they would rather sell than pay for the fence and stay with you as the neighbour lol :)

Wait for settlement and ask the new neighbours.

I think that seems like the best idea. The seller has given me the solicitors details for the new buyer - I might exchange some coro with them now and see if we can get it agreed, and then start on it as soon as they settle

Also issue notice to fence ! (Registered mail)
Sending quotes alone doesn't mean squat.
