Feel like some one is lying to me about the weather. Are we being lied to?

North Queensland has just experienced unprecedented temperatures in the 40's and Cairns has been on water restrictions for a little while now and they're now talking about upgrading to the next level. It's supposed to be the wet season....

There is a long term trend of higher annual temperatures across the globe.

This is a fact based on independent data . . . . not a Green or Left 'Line'

This doesn't mean there will not be variations on a daily, weekly, or seasonal basis.

Sydney was on water restrictions for many years.
Than we built desalination plant and a few years ago the reservoir that feeds Sydney was overflowing worrying of flooding.

I think they don't have a clue because the climate is changing so rapidly atm, the time honoured models of "x temperature in this part of ocean y equals z on land" is not longer relevant

When the earth is covered by 2/3rd of ocean - slight fluctuation in ocean temperature causes massive change on land - and the forecasters don't know why/what the effects are yet

It's a bit like the share market, up one day, down the next with the overall trend being up.
