I beg to differ. You must be patient and one can find good deals in market. Even goverment auctions isnt bad. You can get a used car for further 10-15% discount.
I am quoting Sydney here (the states might differ too).

    Regards

Hmm, garbage? Based on one person who clearly doesn't want a performance machine, they want an old mans car ;)
GTR engines are hand built by NISMO technicians. They can handle 1000HP without touching internals.

It's all subjective @Azazel . Unless you've driven the new F-Type R I wouldn't say it's an old man's car (most other jag's are). My neighbour also has an Audi R8 which in my opinion is awesome!

GTR's are great performance cars but they're still Japanese so they've got no style compared to the euro's. Bang for buck though, you can't beat a superbike for the street.

I probably won't drive the new Jag - or probably any Jag for that matter.
But the R8 is pretty awesome.
I would still prefer the GTR, so much car for the money. And:
"Carlos Ghosn, Nissan president and CEO, announced today that at Germany's famed Nürburgring, on April 16-17, 2008, a production Nissan GT-R achieved a lap time of 7 minutes, 29 seconds, making it the fastest production car ever to lap the Nürburgring circuit."

Did you test drive the Forester?
The turbos are still pretty good.
I've driven the XV as well, seems like a good car.

No test drives. Just kick tyres and buy. I like the forrester but I've culled them off the list. Bit too small unfortunately

Did you look at the XV? A bit bigger I think.
    Pretty safe too of course.

We've just gone through the exercise and ended up with a n XTrail....But we only have 2 tin lids.
Looked at all the comparable ones Kia, Hyundai Tuscon, Toyota Rav 4, Honda CRV, Mitsubishi Outlander and ended up with the Nissan. I was lucky and had the choice of a 'family discount' on the Rav 4 or the Nissan. Mrs loves it so far..only 2 weeks old though

The X Trails are good, decent engines too.
I remember driving one that the rear seats folded totally flat, very practical.

Haha... I think this is the topic introduced me to WM :)
We have three kids. They are 7 , 5 & 3 now. We have been driving the Forrester for last three years.
Two tricks to it. All thanks to WM's tips.
    1. You can buy narrower seats. Every CM counts.
    2. Buy an extention belt/clip for the booster seat kid. Otherwise, it would be too difficult to reach the clip.

Of course I would, I generally don't buy new. Just need to get a good inspection, or know what you're looking for.
Didn't he want to fit 3 kids across the back?

Is that the seat belt to secure it in?

How do you find the boot space and comfort? We previously had a camry which had heaps of room, the forrester looks a bit more compact

Yup. Then he also said, occassionally, he wanted to invite friends for a trip.
X-trails are 5 seaters, if i am not mistaken. :)

And then, after 3 - 4 years of driving, if th3 car is not maintained properly, you will hate the noises after buying. o_O and that is a common thing.
