So my friend was looking for an apartment in the city and sent me the link.

    http://www.realestate.com.au/property-apartment-wa-perth-414191727

The second I opened it I saw it was fake but they had no idea. Viewing the agency's rentals they are all the same photos with one in each state. The photos say to contact a gmail address for more details.

Some of the listings have over 1000 views and they are nearly listed. I assume a lot of people are going to loose money on this one.

I've reported it though there online form but I wonder how long they'll be up for.
It's crazy how often I see these.

I'm interested to see what a fake listing looks like, but looks like they've already taken that one down...

I guess they must use this as the bait to get folks to call, then tell them it has been leased and try to steer them to their real stock.

Old trick used in every industry with a product/s to sell.

Just clicked the link and it seems the listings are gone? I wonder if they read this forum?

My wife and I came across a listing on real estate .com about 7 months ago. it was a Sydney listing (we're from Brisbane and just moved down), the price was really good and when we started emailing we found out the owners live overseas and we need to wire a deposit so that we can get access and have an inspection. Anyway we received a call from the owner and he had a strong accent on a very bad line, so it made it hard to understand. I googled the phone number area code and it just happened to be a Nigerian number.

Anyway he sounded nice, so I wired him 6 months rent in advance.

Bugger. We must have been competing for the same rental. I'm still stoked about the inheritance gain he's gonna share with me :D

Must be the same bod who's gonna pay me $$$$ to bump off his father, the clown prince who was deposed and living in exile.

The photo mentioned an appointment to view.

Presumably the excuses would fly if you asked to visit the property.
