Do some googling and get their MSDS (material safety data sheets). They should provide you these if asked, but you can download from their websites or a MSDS site. I haven't looked for a while
They tell you basically how their product will kill you :p and what to do to prevent death or injury

If it makes painting fun it's worth paying double!

    Must be this:
Like other solvents, toluene is sometimes also used as an inhalant drug for its intoxicating properties; however, inhaling toluene has potential to cause severe neurological harm.Toluene is an important organic solvent.(wikipedia)
I feel so fiiiiine, but I look so low...

OK how about a comparison of the prep coats?

Not sure if the right product BRITISH_PAINTS_PREP_4_IN_1_OIL-BASED-AUS_SDS vs DULUX_PREPCOAT_SEALER_BINDER-AUS_SDS

I'd think it's the Naphtha, but Xylene doesn't sound like a good ingredients either

Excellent, thanks @EN710 . Could you put up one of those for Taubmans 3 in 1, too?

I wonder why industrial paint MSDS or Technical Data Sheets don't have ingredients listed on them?

I'm guessing everything in there is harmful?

One of my uncle has paint manufacturing (in 3rd world country) - I don't think he'd tell me the actual mix. They're company specific mix where the no of people knowing the recipe is counted by hand. Other family member has betrayed one another for it. Go figure o_O

You Are a google machine - thank you so much. From now on it'll be dulux for me - streets ahead of the others. They should put me in the marketing dept.
That is precisely the info I wanted, thanks sweetie :):p (@EN710 )

Except coca cola doesn't cover almost everything you encounter day to day. train, boat, gutter, houses, roof... Walking home and noticing all the stuff with paint along the way

Surely it can't e too far off. It's clearly 'an OH&S issue'.

@WattleIdo now you've got me thinking. Did you paint in or outdoors and felt unwell? Somehow I've bought quite a lot of them and not sure if I should just exchange them all as well...

They cover them by including all the safety of handling and use in the MSDS but ingredients for those products are likely secretive and perhaps "intellectual property". The main safety issue is how to use it and how to seek help if things go pear shaped

It was the oil-based undercoat that was so bad. I didn't even try the enamel topcoat. I was indoors but the windows off and standing in a breeze. I am sensitive but that's not always a bad thing. Looking at the ingredients shows that kerosene is not my cup of tea.
If I were you, I'd give it a try and see how you go. Only open one tin - no great loss @ $15. But I can see why Bunnings are no longer stocking this product.
By the way, I had no problem with the BP acrylic paint - in fact, I quite liked it.
