CBA have always had the most sensible lending policies for expats and non residents which is why their non residents changes about 18 months were very minor. They have fantastic expat related policies which makes sense since expats are generally excellent customers.

CBA will lend as per their oz policy as they don't apply restrictions to the LVR for expats.

Off topic but their other strength is that they will do 90% no LMI even for solicitors provided that the solicitor has a practicing certificate in oz. This is not the case with other lenders like Westpac and St George that have the LMI waiver for solicitors.

There are a couple of lenders that will lend to expats but its very limited. Max LVR is 70% but you are paying a premium on the rate and fees.

How is the current lender appetite with expat loans, is there a certain lender that is more generous than others when it comes to servicing? Or are they all the same?

Are certain currency like from China, Vietnam and South Korea can be used upon by Australian lenders for Aussie citizens based in those countries but being laid not in AUD.

Any advice here in the sector
