... and you can still run the sheep under it. Be interesting to see the returns. Be great to see more of these, combined with the "community batteries" around the country - especially since this joint has bought forward it's closure date due to being unable to compete with the cost of renewable produced power

That untameable horse again- harnessing the power of the ocean. Will be interested to see how this technology goes as there's no water contact with moving parts which is a major problem with other wave energy projects given the problems of wear and tear.

That the interesting thing about renewable energy - there are so few moving parts due to being no combustion transfer

It's an easy change ... also used to grow mushrooms. My grounds go straight in the compost, as the worms love it.

I'd like to see more of the compostable coffee cups around - not just biodegradable, 'cause biodegradable simply means "breaks down into microplastics" - and paper straws ...

... problem is, many that claim they're "compostable" aren't really

This is very cool - nighttime energy panels ... could easily see future homes having both day and night panels to produce electricity 24/7.

Is only new-ish emerging technology, so will take a few years, but might even supersede the need for a battery at all (although an electric car plugged in becomes a battery when sitting in the garage)

    This could certainly be exciting.

Australians with rooftop solar panels could soon be charged for exporting electricity into the grid

A bit political but it could be argued if the energy distributors didn't gold plate the poles and wires to exploit the 10% mandated return and directed those funds towards accommodating solar and other renewables..... Interesting as well in that the power companies didn't actually fork out any of their capital for roof top solar i.e. a power generator.

It's a mess all round really.

Just another boffin trying to justify their overpaid position !
This scheme will just take a larger portion of peoples money (thru management)
Electricity providers already restrict if you can put solar on (if too many local PV systems) and they also have a clause in your agreement that they can restrict how much you can export.

It's time for the grid to evolve, not penalize those who invested in solar, only to pass savings to those that didn't

Well - that would certainly put a rocket up the battery market

Brilliant to see partnerships ... and would love more. Our local aluminum smelter does nothing but whinge, whereas bhp are seeing up solar plants etc for their smelters.

I know - the posts are me me me - but I find the new and innovative technology (and some not so new but used in a new fashion) fascinating ... go Perth!
