ETF Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) 2021

Bought VAS and VGS the day before.

 

Sorry if this has been asked before. I had a search but............
I added VTS to my Choiceplus account in Hostplus pension fund. I have noticed that although the dividend was paid and shows on my account, I received 0.00. Does anyone know why this would be. I held the shares several weeks before dividend announced.

 

Ahhh. OK. I think I can answer my own question. The exchange rate for the VTS dividend has only been announced today so I am guessing they could not show the actual dividend amount until this happened.

 

For those wanting to know these things, the Annual Tax Statement for STW is available from the share registry. Strangely the statement is dated 26 July - time machines are awesome.

No such luck with Vanguard apparently.

 

Yeah, always waiting on Vanguard statements as the last thing needed before tax returns can be completed.

 

Yeah. All one can do until then is.......

 

Still no news on the vanguard annual tax statement? I tried to have a peek on the share registry but the website was down tonight.

 

I looked at 10:30 am but nup. By that time documents are available. Tomorrow or at some time in a future far, far away. Yes, impatient as I wanted to get all this tax **** done. Oh well, next week.

 

Just checked, nothing.

 

Hmm, somebody is upset. I wonder who that may be?

I acknowledge, despite the powerful abacuses these index providers use, it can take time to compile and issue all the advices but:

STW paid on 12 July. Statements, although dated 26 July, were available on 21 July from the share registry but still no email advice the statement is available has been received.

VAS & VGS paid on 16 July. Zilch so far.

Could be their way of saying Calm down children, it'll happen.

Yeah, but I want it to happen now!

Pretty sure it was around the 25th last year, can't be far away???

 

24th last year and the 22nd the year before that.

New ETF has been created VDG - Vanguard Disgruntled Group.

 

This one is more inclusive - I belong to this group. I was thinking I would need to make a comment for the grumpy old ladies

I'm not upset about it really. More bemused to be honest but frankly I like getting things I need to do finished as quickly as possible and waiting upon third-parties to do there thing can be frustrating.

I rang the number. The delay is caused by a multitude of calls by people wanting to know when Vanguard Super will start. Youse can back off until I get what I want. After all....

It should be a 5 second job to generate that report.

 

Our expectations have altered over the years. In the past everything was delivered by post. Never knew exactly when it would arrive and it was a pleasant surprise, to me at least, when it did.

Now with electronic communication our attitudes have changed and not necessarily for the better.
