Just assisting the facilitation of exchange within the market place. Not forcing anyone to sell low. In fact it solves someone else's problem due to the need to free capital or from a margin call or whatever.

For the record, I do still hold various stocks and other funds within the listed environment. Haven't sold except a few last Dec to free up funds for some startup syndicate deals. I'm still dipping in slowly. Only had two orders filled to date, last week. Still another three orders open in this money tranche and waiting for real funds to arrive from term deposit maturities within the next three weeks.

Nothing wrong with buying things at a discount ;)

How far below market can you place an order? I tried last week and Comsec wouldn't accept my order because it was too far below market

This was in SMSF via ANZ share trading. From memory VAS was at high 50's when I placed order for $52

Our family trust is with Commsec. Haven't placed orders there yet due to waiting for improved liquidity after term deposits mature. I must say though that Net bank has been slowww past few days o_O

VAS just updated their estimated quarterly dividends from 68.5c (announced last week) to 75.c :D

    That's a nice 9.5% increase.

    Cheers,
    Oracle.

It is nice. Now to see what the one following will be could be of greater interest but maybe less joy.

Gees, I know how to rain on the parade. Sorry, folks but I don't think the distributions is that amount. Two announcements on the same day?

    :(

They should not bother with estimates if they need to update every so often.

Something must have gone wrong this time around. Usually between estimates and final there is only minor difference.

    Cheers,
    Oracle.

No idea. Probably the same which happened to declaring not to add further holdings to the portfolio. Done that too!

Second one. When VAS came into the fold. Don't want to add any further holdings. Gets too complicated for my purposes.

Is there a fund/ETF that holds group of ETFs that track multiple markets?

Chess account via my broker (Selfwealth), like a regular share.
There was quite a bit discussion here on VDHG, not so much on DHHF. Do a search for it.
They are very similar products for my understanding just from different providers (Vanguard vs Betashares)

Noob question, but is there any strategy around timing purchases with dividend distributions? If they are done quartery assuming you'd want to buy closer to the next dividend rather than say the day after if you had the choice, but is that about it? Also what quarterly dates are they distributed and are they all typically done at the same time or do the different ETF's (ie VAS/VGS) distribute in different months? Cheers
