Fair enough, I was just expressing my opinion as I mentioned in my previous post.

I guess nothing wrong with LIKE system if used for the purpose you mention, unfortunately in the real world it wont happen, that's all. I am not on FB, not sure how posters react to all this?

    thanks for explaining this

    MTR:)

@pinkboy I believe your post may have disturbed a covert operation. Should we send help?

Yup, you are welcome to do so - I'll express mine too ... we'll have a discussion ... on a discussion forum. I reckon it will be cool and we'll all have fun :D

I think there will always be outliers - people who abuse a system. I think if we can keep most of it under control, the vast majority of people will use the system the way it was intended.

I can generally use policy and technology to deal with those outliers if it becomes necessary - limiting likes per day perhaps or something like that. For example, I've already removed the like rankings to try and remove the incentive for people to solicit likes.

    That's a hilarious thread from a moderator!

Not really an endorsement for a forum when even the moderators think it's a community of crazy, whinging, boring, narcissistic, dim wits.

Read too many posts @keithj? You sound over it.

im surprised the business members are copping being ridiculed and belittled while paying PC for the privilege.

    Maybe they like it;)

Actually, my point wasn't about likes but about split personalities. There are a few around.

On the issue of likes, yes, some people use them like fairy dust as a way of strengthening their relationships :p and sometimes they're used as in 'I like this one, not that one o_O. The real abuse is when one split personality likes one or more of his other splits just because.
I would suggest (in my most patronising tone) that if it bothers you and you know you do it, then stop liking so much. You won't be as bothered by the excessive liking. Try to like the people you don't actually like when they do a good post - then you'll know you're using it properly. (sweet smile :)).

    OMD.

Missed PC for one day, and I come back to notifications about the 'personalities' thread. I'm pleased to see that I wasn't labelled.

If I'm completely honest, I read the categories, laughed and came up with names for most of them.

Then I came across the one that was clearly written for me and I was a little bit hurt, even though it wasn't hurtful.

Then I realised that to think it was written about me puts me in the narcissist category. Then I laughed at myself for being a **** and being hurt in the first place.

Then I found I'd been mentioned 5 times in the thread and didn't know what to think.

    True story.

PS. My LER has escalated to 91%. This proves that the LER is in no way a measure of a successful property investor.

Surely we are not saying that whoever has the most likes for their post wins the physiological battle of wills in that thread.
As Wattleido has said above if you wield your likes to strengthen your own argument than I honestly feel sorry for those people..

I'm not sure where I fall in the list. Would someone like to label me?
I won't get offended as I don't care. I just want to belong.
