    Hey guys,

Thinking of getting either evap cooling or a spilt system installed.

Just wanna hear which one everyone thinks is better and why

In my mind they are two completely different beasts. Here in Perth most people install ducted evap aircon in new houses and being a hot dry heat that suffices for almost all the time. Where as i install split systems in existing houses just to cool down the living areas install a ducted system in place i imagine would be astronomical. I also have never heard of someone putting in a ducted evap system after the build although im sure people do.

So to answer your question we would need more info as in where do you plan to install, what is your budget and what type of property is it ?

Evap is better due to having cool air that you don't feel like your being choked in. Also its cheaper to run. I find mine does a great job even on 45+ days which we had in Melbourne. Get the biggest size you can.

@sauber - where are you located VB means very little as to whether evap or a/c is better.

Evap in drier/less humid climates ie away from the coast, ac where you have high humidity.

They are totally different in cooling and heating (evap doesn't heat).
