Looking at ETF (VAS and VGS) and would like to know the difference between investing in the Fund via Vanguard and buying shares in the fund on the ASX i.e. online share purchase via broker.

I am sure that this has been discussed before but I can't find the link. Could someone please forward me the link. Thanks

    Wholesale
    - Minimum $100K startup
    - Small purchases via BPay
    - Higher MER

    ETF
    - No minimum
    - Buy via ASX (pay brokerage) so minimum purchases of $5k or so to minimise costs
    - Slightly lower MER

Generally wholesale is good for habitual reasons, very easy to setup small regular purchases direct from pay, but over long term the slightly lower MER of ETFs will have an advantage in cost, depending on how frequently you purchase
