    I'm sure we had groups of people meeting before 2000. What did we call it then? Networking? Get togethers? Meetings? I can't remember.

    Meetings. But that's a more formal term.

    I'm surprised it's so new myself. I expected to have found that it had been around much longer.

    Perhaps it was previously only used as a verb, with two separate words? And the single word meetup, used as a noun, is new? The spell checker in PropertyChat doesn't like it.

    I recall the word Social bandied about but not sure that is the right word.

    I still use vitamiser instead of blender. Blender seems American to me.

    That's an interesting one. I've never used the word vitamiser. I didn't know a vitamiser was the same as a blender.

    I use mix master for bench beaters too. Except my mix master is a Mix Master but my vitamiser is not a Vitamiser :D

    This must be a Perth thing. I was pretty sure I was the only person that said vitamiser ;)

    Yeah, my mum (also from SA) used to call it a vitamiser.

    I won't touch them. I refuse to buy a vitamiser that costs more than my car! :p
