I am an engineer, but no idea what this is all about. What are the implications to an individual?

Actually you're an actor, you just pretend to be an engineer. You're but affected ;)

Gingerbeers get special assessment being in a "good" job. Like nurses.
That's the basic explanation ;) the smart people will be along soon

Even engineers pretend to be engineers. I was once radioed to assist a 457 mech engineer (out at Yandi under HWE) who was struggling with a hose fitting, I assumed it was something hydraulic...

Nope. Turns out he'd never seen a garden hose connector and coupling in his life.

Some days, that's what they paid me the big $$ to do. :D

It's considered a reliable or "safe" job with lots of work. So you should be in a secure job or able to find work.

Why get your hands dirty when you can play dum and get someone else to do it! Plus you know what those bloody tradies are like, they'll cry demarcation till the cows come home! :p

    Awful show.
    Molecular engineering sounds pretty basic.
