As mentioned in a previous post , I'm updating our computer systems / software and have gone with Office 365 .

We have our own domain names which have been hosted via Net Registry. They did offer an integrated package with Office 365 , But it didn't include One Note which was important for me so I've gone for the Office 365 direct from Microsoft ... but Netregistry is being problematic about communicating with this ( certainly not easy to set up ) and wants me to get another subscription from them to host a cloud based email service , presumably on top of the subscription I pay for the domain names.

I've found them frustrating to deal with in the past , so I'm thinking of taking my domain names and going else where.

Any suggestions on alternatives who can manage my domain names and email ?

    You're doing it wrong :)

If you can log into net registry there will be a section there where you can simply point it to Microsoft. Refer to help section on "mx records" in o365 which would have info on how to do this.

Alternatively change from net registry to Simon Hamples domain service. Swapping would usually be at no charge, but confirm with him. This can then be pointed at your existing o365 as per above.

My sister in law hosts her business' o365 (only 1 mailbox admittedly) and domain hosting through GoDaddy and has been happy with it. She particularly comments on their support staff being very helpful. I did the mail migration for her but she hasn't asked me to do anything since so that's a good sign.

I use VentraIP for everything except my email exchange and cloud services and they are great (as is my email and cloud provider). Always on the ball and helpful if I lodge an e-ticket.

+1 for VentraIP. I recently setup a website and domain with them. For email, I ended up using Gmail (1-2 users only at this stage). The email domain is provided by VentraIP but gets directed to my Gmail.

I've also got it setup so when I reply from my Gmail, it'll look like it came from [email protected]. Good enough for us at the start-up stage.
