Comparing adelaide to brisbane is like comparing brisbane to sydney.
% growth aside, Brisbane is in a different league than adelaide and likewise, sudney is also in a different league compared to brisbane.

    I know this is OT

but I have been quoted without negotiating a similar priced property in a different state, 2.9% inc gst sales comission
marketing costs of $400 for all the major sitesincluding pro photos, signboard, layout diagram, local magazine, digital ad and newsletter,

and yet the agencies in the area wanted $1800 for marketing, and said their wholesale cost to advertise on 2 domain and realestate.com are $600.

looks like theyre making a huge markup on advertising as well

Different states are not relevant. Even inner and outer suburbs have different fees. Find the professional you can work with and trust to get the best result and fees are mostly meaningless.

Produce from Adelaide’s northern suburbs could soon be hitting shelves in China following trade event

    James Gratton, Northern Weekly Messenger

MORE northern produce and wine could soon be hitting shelves across the world following talks last week between local companies and a delegate of Chinese investors.

More than 40 importers, distributors and buyers from Shanghai, Hong Kong and Huangzhou tasted produce from six northern business at a trade event at the Stretton Centre in Munno Para.

The representatives, whose cities have a combined population of more than 40 million, were in South Australia for three days to attend food, wine and trade events across the state.

Elizabeth South-based tuna wholesaler SAFCOL and Angle Vale winery Virgara Wines are in discussions to start exporting to China after making positive connections at the event.

SAFCOL financial and business manager Jed Lim was pleased with the early talks.

“We got some pretty good leads so we just need to follow them up now which is a good start, but it does take time,” Mr Lim said.

“We are just searching for the right partner in China so we can start exporting there.

“This event was not like other huge trade shows and was quite intimate so you can spend more time building your relationships with potential customers and they can get to know the product.”

Barossa Fine Foods, P’Petual Holdings, Zerella Fresh, Uleybury Wines, Golden North and Light’s View Group, who produce wine and olive oil, all gained interest from the investors and are in discussions to trade overseas.

Investment and Trade Minister Martin Hamilton-Smith said the meetings helped show off northern produce to the world.

“South Australia is home to some of the most iconic food and beverage producers, and these events help reinforce our international reputation for quality products, to international buyers,” he said.

“Our South Australian businesses are already having some success in China and our government is committed to continuing to help open doors for local businesses to access overseas markets.”

State Government provides $10 million loan for Playford Ice Arena
    Leon BignellFebruary 6, 2018

The State Government will provide a $10 million loan to Playford Council to help fund construction of the $40 million Playford Ice Arena.

Featuring two Olympic sized ice rinks, the indoor ice sports and entertainment facility is expected to attract world championship ice hockey and figure skating events to South Australia.

Having two ice rinks side by side will allow for recreational use of the facility at the same time as competitive games. The arena will also include a restaurant, rock climbing wall, dance studio, children’s play area and “winter wonderland”.

The project is expected to create 340 jobs during construction, and fulltime and ongoing employment for 140 to 160 people (70 FTE) upon completion.

While infrastructure spending is always good, I'm not sure Playford needs more ice...

    Lol.

They built a bunch of nice tennis courts. Not quite sure the value in that either .

The cbd bit they're trying to build next to the shopping centre could be alright though .

Luxury hotel to drive Playford’s tourism economy

“This seven-storey hotel is a fantastic privately funded development for northern Adelaide.”
It is expected that 520 FTE jobs will be created due to the hotel development.
“The 4.5 star $50 million hotel will bring new jobs, much-needed quality accommodation and will be a striking building in our new CBD,” Mayor Docherty said.

Yep, its alot of development in a very concentrated area.(also keep in mind there is a further stage of development planned after completion of the current projects) Once it is all done i think it is going to look rather impressive and well planned out set against the adjoining parkland/sporting hubs.

How are Paralowie and surrounding areas ticking along? Any insights? I believe it's seen a hype in various discussions for last two yrs. Is any growth and gentrification seen on the ground yet?
