I have to connect electricity to do repairing work before tenants move in. I am intertate and not familiar with Brisbane Electricity Companies. Which electricity company you recommend for only 1-2 days electricity usage.

Next door. lol Don't know the procedure in Brisbane but in Syd we would just turn on the main switch in the meter box. The amount of electricity you are going to use is 1-2 days is negligible but the actual connection and disconnection cost would be substantial.

I use Dodo as they have no contract and no credit check. SA POWER NETWORKS actually come out and remove the mains side fuse after disconnection so you cant just flick the mains back on.

My experience with Origin Energy has been very bad. Only fixed now thanks to the Ombudsman. FYI they have a whole department that looks after complaints via the Ombudsman.

Brisbane and gold coast and north to gympie are outsourced to external providers such as agl, origin, energy au etc. anywhere else in qld, e.g toowoomba and west, north of gympie, kingaroy etc are all ergon energy.

We have had to do this a few times for some of our rental properties in the Brisbane area that need a bit of work before tenants moving in for example. We always use Direct Connect (free service) and they find you the best/cheapest provider and do all the connection side of things themselves - so its a really easy quick phone call and process. Mostly we were charged a $10 connection fee and whatever the use was which was always minimal for usually only a day or two of work. Just passing this on in case the need arises again or if anyone else needs to connect.!
