I'm the first one to agree with you on that. I would still prefer a gov in power that's aligned with my values than one that wants to give a $1000 for oldies to put in pokies.

Xenophon is an important player now, and wants to seriously curtail gambling.

It will be interesting to see how he plays his hand, its a real mixed bag of independents holding the balance of power.

'Messy' election result may lead to credit downgrade, weigh on shares: economist
    • Credit rating, share market, economy, superannuation might be effected by the outcome. Dare we mention property prices ?
    • From Shorten's speech yesterday, removal of NG rort appears to be firmly entrenched as a labor policy in spite of election outcome and hopes of many:

It drove me nuts that every labor speech (including Penny Wong) was acting like labor won.....sorry guys but the scoreboard says otherwise (albeit still up in the air until Tuesday).

As far as I know at no time was labor ahead.....so therefor no reason for them to act like they were.

I could be wrong but wealth creation doesn't seem to be on your radar.
Sounds like you are hoping for disfunction and uncertainty.

Merely stating the state of affairs as they are.
Best bargains are found in midst of uncertainty and chaos.

Edit: BTW NG rort elimination is still very much alive in the labor camp.

Labor is ahead in most of the in doubt seats. Whoever forms government will also have to provide a speaker (hopefully one without helicopters). So who can persuade the GG that they can pass legislation? It is still to close to call.

The AEC has it at 67 coalition to 71 ALP, 1 Xenophon, 1 Kater, 1 green and two independents, with 7 too close to call. This, and the ABC are only predictions and it's so close seats could go either way.

ALP can probably rely on the support (not necessarily a deal) of Wilkie (Tas indi) and more so the green. That brings them to 73. Some analysts reckon ALP will pick up three of the undecided - that gives the ALP the keys to the lodge. It depends which alter ego is on duty which way Kater goes, most likely the coalition.

Xenophon is a bit of a wild card.

No, the AEC list is not predicting who will win the seat but who is ahead at the moment.

Watched it last night. Man I find her really hard to take. Thought the ScoMo did well considering the tone of questioning towards him.

Surely not. The AEC must be wrong. I keep reading stuff on here saying how the LNP has won and will form a government.

Geez I hope he gets a result on that; it's astounding how many gambling ads are now vomitising the airwaves and screens...and no doubt destroying even more lives.

I can't believer how badly Mick Molloy has prostituted himself.

    "Up to fifty bucks!!.....caaaash.....baaaack!!"

    OMFG

    EDIT; "Please gamble responsibly" o_O:rolleyes:
