By the way, @brettc , I just checked Product Review website for EBM reviews. The ratings are abysmal: 1.3 out of 13 reviews.

Had to come into PC forum to check if I'm making the right decision to renew my LL insurance with your team. Haha.

I always have the impression that productreview is usually used by people who, for whatever reason, are really angry. They go there to let off steam
I did it myself to my internet provider when I was really cranky with them! Not saying it's not a useful site - I check there often myself before making a purchase. But I read the reviews carefully and take many of them with a pinch of salt! That being said, sometimes it can tell you something useful about a company. I work in the insurance business myself, and if you believe what people say on our company's facebook page, you'd never consider insuring with us. Some people just have vendettas.Which is why a lot of insurance companies don't allow the public to post on their facebook page!

Most of you are probably aware, however TS offer a multi policy discount. Mine worked out at $29 per policy. Saved myself $100 (in total) by making a phone call. I thought Id previously had the discount but it had only been for my 3rd policy, not the other two.

Yep for sure. Simply call 1800 661 662 or email customer service at [email protected] and they should be able to email you a copy. Any problems let me know.

Doing 2 TS claims at the moment and both are very frustrating. Take forever to get back to you - then when they do its to ask for more info on something, provide it, 7-10 days later get a reply saying they'll look at it in 7-10 days.

Stark contrast with EBM we have an online portal where we upload all the documents and they send us a cheque back within a few days.

Please consider your property managers sanity when choosing an insurer.

@brettc , did EBM get brought out by Suncorp? When I type in EBM landlord insurance in google, that’s the first hit. The pds seems different to the one you have a link to in your signature

It would be great if they both provided an option to pay monthly.

According to one of my PMs, EBM has been rejecting a lot of claims lately that other insurers typically accept. This was mentioned after we had a claim rejected recently by EBM where a shower had leaked and they wouldn't cover the repair to the wall behind the shower that water had damaged, citing the shower was too old. I've never encountered this before, particularly with water related damage and it's not like we were asking for them to cover the shower repair itself. When the original main galvanised water pipe in the roof rusted through and damaged the kitchen and dining room ceilings, there was no issue with the insurance - Allianz was the insurer then and they were fine to deal with. I moved the policy to EBM to save money but I might have to rethink that decision.

I guess this has been answered, but no, EBM remains privately owned, definitely not by one of the big insurers. You will most likely find that those companies are using "EBM landlord insurance" as an included search term in their online advertising so that they show up when someone is looking for us.

I have one insurer like this, it becomes an accounting nightmare, pay one a month, or week or whatever, or pay multiple before EOFY is prob easier, or if doing monthly, get PMs to do it, but I could see that being messy if you have a few places.
