Looking at purchasing a duplex (one side) which is set up as dual living, 2x1 upstairs and 1x1 downstairs with separate entrances and meters and currently tenanted by 2 seperate parties on the Gold Coast which has great yield but I was wondering if anyone had any information on if it was legal?
If they are rented as rooms is that a safe way to do it?

    Phone the council and ask.
Make sure you confirm the areas can be rented on separate leases.

are you able to view the property?

Measure the bedrooms and living areas and make sure they are 2.4m high, this is the legal height needed to be deemed habitable.

    and as @Marg4000 stated above.
