Wonder if the prophets of doom still lurk here but don’t post anymore, some of those “this is the top” date back to Jan 2018.
In fairness some of the commentary quoted 6850 as a top, we are barely holding 7000, so my question is if we do get a savage down turn is there a time limit or maximum run past the quoted top that they can still claim I told you so?

My view is it doesn't matter if others are right or wrong on this issue. It is going to get down to what you're going to do when it happens. I've no doubt it will eventually but I don't know the when.

The quant fund’s all trade on momentum. And probably most funds

Everyone knows it’s expensive, but need catalyst to crash it

Of course as soon as I get rid of my surf board the wave will finally arrive. Might have to borrow myself at least a boogie board to come along for a little ride.

New highs in the DJI and SPX will be met with elation. Equally, XJO will reach an important high (not a new all-time high). The reversal that follows will catch many unaware.

DJI closes above 30000! More retail investment money has flowed into US equities over the last few weeks than in recorded history. Everybody's on the train...

I think this is the next boom - Covid recovery lead bull run.
Anyway - I have decided to switch over my super - conservative growth to high growth.
Now I know who is going to be the next FED chair woman.

Looking at that chart the first time % of stocks crossing 75% above 200 day moving average happened around May-June 2016 when the S&P 500 index was hovering around 2200 mark.

Anyone that bought it then and went on with their lives without looking at what the market is doing and held on to it would have seen capital growth of 63.6% + 8% odd dividend income so round off to 70% or approx 14% compounded return over the 4 odd years.

Looks like the chart says % of stocks above 200 day moving average is around 75% now. If I were to buy now I would be happy with that sort of return over the next 4 or so years considering the sort of returns you get with bank deposit this is way better.

Correct me if I have misunderstood the chart I do not claim to be an expert technical analyst.

    Cheers,
    Oracle.
