    Hi all,

I'm looking to get quotes to install double glazed windows for my PPOR. At least for the 2 bedroom windows (both approx 155cm x 155cm).

How much would it cost approximately and can anyone recommend me a good company that supplies and installs the windows? It's mostly for noise reduction.

The PPOR is an old double brick house.

    Thanks in advance.

A good starting point: Veridian - get the right glazing for the situation.

I have used these guys before:

    Soundproofing Specialists | Soundblock Solutions

Only company I could find that has proper aluminium framed windows (not the cheap polycarbonate on magnets some company promotes on the radio).
You'll need a few cm (10cm is ideal) between your existing window and the inside wall to maximise the benefits. Should be fine given you have a double brick construction.
The product is great, makes a world of difference, I cannot stress this enough. Huge difference, both in terms of noise reduction and insulation. Plus it looks great. They can tailor to the window size and opening type.
You can get them out to do a quote for you.

From memory the cost was about $900 per window, depending on the window size. Ours were quite wide.

If you go ahead with them, I recommend you try and be home when they come for the install and look after what they are doing. The guy who did the install was not the best and a bit careless. He locked the existing window in place and then installed the second one, making it almost impossible to unlock the first window. Also left cutter blades on the bed and did some minor damage while moving the frames around the house. Still, despite that I would recommend them. Product is fantastic really.

I have no link to these guys.

That's a shame, they were pretty good when I reached out.
Maybe you could try to give them a call? From memory the girl's name was Millie.
Otherwise I could dig in my emails to find their address if you want, just let me know.

Also it should be noted it took about a month for them to manufacture the Windows, so something to keep in mind.
