double bricked walls

    I pick up a new hobby - figuring out for reno what I will do whenever I see an old house and try to run the numbers (but always end up passing as dont have time and skills to do, need a builder here!)
    just wondering about the double brick wall, is it costly to reconfigure provided its not load bearing? have anybody done it??
    lots of double brick in Perth/WA so @Perthguy?

    • The intern skin of cavity walls IS load bearing.
    • Double brick is the standard/expectation in WA
    • Few internal walls are double brick unless load bearing
    • Yes and no. Depends on your definition of expensive.

    its 400k house in regional so probably not worth doing it then

    I can't tell from a floor plan which walls are load bearing but as @Scott No Mates mentions it is safe to assume all external walls will be. Some internal walls that are 90 degrees might not be load bearing and some walls that run parallel will be. A visual inspection is always required.

    Load bearing is expensive to deal with. Non load bearing can be less costly depending on what you are doing
