Do you know how many streets it adds up to with Logan and Ipswich combined?

 No need for scarcism, I never implied any of the above.

I was hinting at survivor bias and short-termism.

As for the Brisbane market, some more growth but no boom most likely. Who knows? If Labor get elected it might stop in its tracks.

A boom is what has happened in Sydney and Melb recently which is growth of over 20-40%+

    More like 90% :) Over a 5 year period! And 60% over 2.5 years!

It's difficult buying in a flat market unless you have a lot of equity or funding from the family etc. It's worth it though.

I think luck is where you have a few hundred thousand (handed to you) to build a portfolio in a span of a year to two years. :) otherwise it is just focus.

I think buying the number of properties in Sydney was a very good choice and also a great start to building wealth and moving forward to other deals.

i think luck is where you put a punt on something (whether forex, shares, property) and the return extraodinaryly exceeds what you would have normally predicted. Back in the GFC days, ppl were playing the ASX200 indexes through CFDs and options and making thousands in minutes. Is that luck or trend analysis or gambling? i have won 100K once on a carribean poker hand with a royal flush in casino before. Is that skill or luck?

Skill is where you predict the return through forecasting analysis something through understanding the costs involved in buying something, selling, or understanding through business, trading. This is similar to how you did your subdivsions developments in thomastown and croydon with your projections. that is skill.

Has BS Shrapnel ever predicted anything right? They would have to be THE worst mob at making predictions.

I read the SMH live update page on ASX everyday and love the gods of stocks predicting everything. Its funny watching people saying all sorts of credible things which are not wrong but none of them actually working... :)

    90% over 5 years?
What was the purchase price and what did it end up at?
