my 8 year old bishon fris got hit by a car a few weeks ago.
She had gotten out the front door a few times and we've managed to go out and stop traffic in the middle of the road until we caught her.
This time we were not quick enough. Emergency vets tried CPR for 20 mins but couldn't revive her. Kids are deviststed, my girls saw it happen - sho got hit by 2 cars :(

Anyway I'm now in the market for a new dog -new puppies fix everything :)

Can someone recommend a small breed that is not as jumpy as a bishon - we tried everything to train her, even got a dog expert in, she was just too hyper. I want a calmer breed that can be trained to walk off a lead.

Not shedding hair is a must, I won't put up with dog hair all over the house, anything bred with a poodle would be good because they don't shed.

    Any suggestions?

Labridoodle possibly if bred with a toy poodle so that it's small.

Labs have a beutiful nature but that waxy hair that gets everywhere - omg!!!'

How about Maltese? They're small and usually quite docile. In terms of energy level it's affected by breed but some puppies of any breed would have high energy ...you'd want to pick the calmer one

Dachshund might suit for smaller dog.
Pug or French bulldog are both great.

Cant help with the non shedding bit, or the small bit, or the walking off lead bit, or the calm bit, but I love my huskies :D

But in all seriousness sorry to hear about loss :(

Can recommend a Spoodle if looking for more outgoing & friendly nature or perhaps a Cavoodle for a more timid & introverted nature. Both with a toy or miniature poodle should avoid / minimise shedding also.
Avoid puppy factories if you can and choose wisely from recommended breeders that you can see the family & upbringing.
    Sorry for your loss also

My middle daughter really wants a Siberian husky- her fafourite dogs.

Huskys are gorgeous dogs but 2 girls with long hair plus myself plus a hairy dog would tip me over the edge.

Bred with a poodle they are called Siber poos. You get over the shedding bit but the mix is just not a very attractive dog.

Friend has a miniature long haired daschund, very gentle and love cuddles. Need a good breeder tho as they are likely to have back problems and parents need to be health tested against genetics issue.

Miniature poodles I know is quite cheery with quite some energy to burn :D

Yes but it's still only about 1/2 the price of many diamond rings....

I've got bulldogs... they aren't exactly cheap either.
