I am wondering whether a mortgage loan application rejection gets recorded on your credit file? If it does not, how does the company that holds your credit file permit you to get a copy of your credit file due to credit declined?

    No.
    Just that you applied.
You write in and ask for a copy of your file - be prepared for them to annoy the **** out of you trying to 'help' you get a loan after that.

As soon as an application is lodged, it's recorded on your credit file. At the moment the outcome of that application is not specified on the credit report.

Won't be on your credit file but the lender you applied with will probably hold that decision on file for a while.

    Cheers
