I don't remember Somersoft being this active! I'm a lurker from there, but actually posting here. I'm sure theres plenty of us too.

It's all shiny and new and everyone is a bit excited about the new software and such.

There's also a lot of lurkers like yourself who have come out of the woodwork and posted - which is great.

It should settle down a bit once everyone gets over the novelty of things!

Yep - it seems to be going nuts. Every time I log in there's been heaps of new posts.

Sim is going to be one busy dude!

Is it possible (ahem) that the more experienced Somersoft posters feel the need to get their post rate up, possibly to establish seniority, and the newer posters feel comfortable posting where everyone is equally new.

For me the ease of posting on mobile devices has made a huge difference.

Yes it does seem as though there is a lot more activity than there was on SS. I think you're right Heinz57 in regards to newer posters feeling more comfortable to post. I was a long time lurker myself on SS - for some reason posting on there almost seemed daunting - not quite sure why!

Yes I definitely post way more on here, it's just so easy to use on mobile devices and so easy to track posts I'm interested in!

    Excellent job @Sim

I think it's part level playing field and all the wonderful introductions from new and old alike. It gives everyone a chance to get to see more into a username than before.
I haven't had a chance to read all the introductions, but welcome to all the new people who previously only lurked on Somersoft!

Mobile friendliness is a big positive. This alone made me visit so many times a day!

+1 it makes a big difference.

I also think there's been an influx of new posters too - or it might just appear to be that way to me.

Either way - it's hugely positive sign and it's great to see the new forum buzzing.

    Cheers

Yes, just had to sit with my daughter for half an hour trying to get her to sleep, so took my phone and read / replied to a few posts while I was there.

So easy to post from mobile, and I like the "like" system too. Much more open than sending kudos.

Seconded. I'd say this is the single major reason why I visit PC more often than I did SS!

Don't feel apprehensive to post. I'm one of the junior ones here with no IP's and it's bombs away for me...lol

    Sprung ....:(

Myself , Rixter and skater have a secret agreement to make meaningless posts to each other to get our posts up .:D We've even allowed Steven Ryan in on the act , though personally I think he's getting too cocky and we need to bring him down to size ....

I go through phases of posting and then having quiet periods . The opening on the PChat coincided with me spending a weekend at our .... Weekender when it was raining .. Not much to do except post ...

    That's my excuse .

Still getting used to the new format . Still not sure on all the emo's .

To me ;):confused:o_O all seem the same

I think the " level " playing field has encouraged newbies to start posting .

Maybe even more importantly the opening of a new forum is giving people a chance to reflect on what they've done , post / reflect on their experinces on somersoft and some people have taken the opportunity to post summaries on how they approach investing .

    Haha

Agree, and I'd like to see more variety in happy emos

Agree on the last two, and definitely about it's now a time to reflect.
Eventually I will have not much to say or add on that topic of what I've done in the past. But when this forum reaches its eventual expiry date, I'm sure I might just do it all again!!

I'm feeling at home already :) Great to see a lot of lurkers posting now.

Also, I like it's a lot more personalised with statuses, likes and the notifications!
