Hi Folks, If I attach a standard word doc in a post can anyone discover my identity? ie: can they see details of who created the doc?
    Thanks, RS

    I believe you can
I have looked up people's names before through word documents.

However I have no idea how to stop that, never tried I have always been an open book online and off line and have never tried to hide anything.

Yes and no. Office docs would usually include information about the user that created the document, this is pulled from the user profile on a computer or mac. So if this information was true, ie you use the real name, it is possible to look at the details of the file.

Ok thanks, I checked the user name (which doesn't indicate my name) so this should be ok? I think the User name corresponds to Author? I am using Word 2007
