Do you prefer to live in an Apartment or a House?

If money isn't an issue which one would you choose?
    What are the reasons why?

If those are the only choices, so like trailer and caravan out of the picture.

^ apartments are allowed to have dogs but small ones.

good point. there's a case in HK where the residence above them were triad members so the on site manager couldn't do anything when they leaked down to the next level and made the ceiling mouldy and wet.

House, for D.T's reasons, and the need for private outdoor space.

Upon migrating to Australia, started off with fully furnished studio in Parramatta ( ~1year +) , then moved to a 2 br unit in Eastwood (~7 years ), then renting a villa now (~4 years). I remember when we first moved to the villa, I told myself, "wow, a backyard ... ".

Another vote for house.. for our dog. I saw a nice poster in someone's house the other day - "I work hard to give my dog a better life" :)

I've found that living in an apartment can more privacy.. for some of the new builds the acoustic properties are so good, you'd never know you had neighbours unless you bumped into them in the hallway.

Over the years I've come to resent the time which must be spent looking after the grounds on a house. It was ok when I was young and fit, but those days are gone.

A townhouse with good sound protection would do me well now.

please dont use that sentence as a loophole and get a mansion i mean just in general..
do you prefer apartment or house living lifestyle? so no cheating is allowed.

i see alot of people like me prefer house but interested in what others have to say and their views on apartments.

pros of apartments are shared facilities pretty good gym and pool, share the cost so it's not too expensive don't need to pay extra for gym membership. also views are good.

I only ask this thread because a friend of mine says apartments are the bee's knees and i'm starting to consider to buy an apartment for my next IP.

I'm a happy bachelor so like @geoffw i can't be stuffed with all the maintenance/cleaning of a house, would prefer a small 2x2 in a maintained complex as a base, working on it.
But if $'s weren't an issue I'd employ people to look after the house.

Love to have a dog but feel its unfair to leave it locked up the the backyard alone 10 hours a day while I'm at work.

Not mansion but generaly it will really depend on the condition of the apartment or the house.

I will likely prefer a luxury apartment with amenities vs an old run down house. Given the conditions are relatively the same, I'd choose house.

    i.e.
    Similar internal size
    Similar conditions
    Similar amenities (both has pool)
Similar privacy (no windows overlooking into the house, sound proofed)
Similar security (i.e. the house provide me similar security over apartment on level x)

    The rules keep on changing!
How about providing some definition/ assumptions? Saying that "money is no issues" vary very differently for everyone.

What do you expect, the guy is a troll!

I prefer a house myself. That way, if I were inclined to, I could build a half finished temple in the backyard then request donations or a GoFundMe page to fund the rest.
