ABCNews reports "Nurses and midwives across NSW are being told to not wear their scrubs outside hospital in the wake of several healthcare workers reporting being assaulted and spat on by members of the public"

this sort of stuff makes my blood boil. !!!!!!

I don't understand why anyone would spit on or assault a healthcare worker? They are putting their health (and lives) on the line to help us.

No different to those losers that assault ambulance officers who have just come to help

    Hi TMNT

Covid is thought to spread as respiratory droplets. These are larger and heavier than "aerosolised" pathogens (such as the measles virus). Covid falls to the ground (and any nearby object) rather than hangs in the air as the lighter measles particles.

You can still pick it up if someone coughs on a supermarket trolley which you then walk by and touch then rub your eyes - which is why it is also advised to regularly wash you hands and avoid touching your face.

When I look at some TV clips of people in London parks or Florida or Gold Coast beaches, New York jogging trails, Brisbane markets, etc. it looks like some places are pretty liberal with the term "lockdown".

We had our usual culdesac street drinks this weekend. Only this time, everyone remained on their respective driveways/porches raising glasses at each other from afar. Most bizarre thing ever, lol

Just got a text from a friend in his 50s or 60s, he was driving somewhere alone,

got stopped by police and asked where he was going, he said home from supermaket,

they checked his car, found no groceries, but he said he was going for a pack cigarettes,

    and they let him go,

talk about ridiculous enforcement of the law

Unfortunate. Could be a reason why the Government is playing at being Nanny. If adults are going to be very naughty children....

Not if it means travelling to the Queen Victoria Markets from Bellingen because you're after 100g of truffle from the eastern facing terraces above 1000m on the Apennines somewhere north of Naples which are only carried by the deli in the third asile. (the deli next door has them but from a lower altitude).

Along with those apples harvested from the southern side of the hill at 6:30 am on a dewy morn by a 16 yo bare-footed vestal virgin by any chance?

I got pulled over today :(

Got back from work, decided to take the hotrod up to the supermarket.
Officer said I'd spun the wheels (BS), and that the driver of the car next to him waved his arms at me because of it..
More likely because the vehicle has Qld rego, driving in NSW, he wasn't impressed when I handed over my Victorian drivers license :p (am not going back to spend 14 days in quarantine when I have an essential services contract in NSW)

Further said that my trip may not be essential (even though I said I was going to the bottleshop after the supermarket  ) and both myself and passenger (work colleague who resides in the same house) may get $1,000 fine
Finally tried to ping me for unroadworthy
Drove home after being let go
    Doing his job ;)

Wish he'd pull over some of the 8 odd people I saw driving with suitcases in the back today  (even one with bags, kyack, bbq, and a tent in the trailer  )

Consider it an "exciting" day. :)

Hello the potential for cross-infection but it doesn't surprise me in the least. Observing the activities of some in my vicinity I expect it to occur.

When chatting - at a safe distance - with a neighbour a few weeks ago, we both came to the conclusion with (a) many children being pulled from school and (b) Easter on the horizon, the normal will happen. And so, both of our households went into voluntary lock down until at least three weeks after Easter and possibly more, keeping any essential activities to the minimum.

In my case, being of a certain age and diabetic, I'd be stupid not to. It should be the intention to get through this difficult time. I'll be doing my darnedest to achieve it.

What others do is up to them and, sadly, the health professions and authorities will have to sort out any mess created by dimwits.
