I have an uncle who tells me how to invest and that I'm making the wrong choices. I think he has some shares but no property and lives in a standard house in a new estate. Like I say to new mums, when someone shares their 'wealth' of knowledge, smile and say thank you even if you think what they are saying is a load of *****.

Please name and shame or throw a few crumbs otherwise the whole thread is pointless. If you think someone's faking, why don't you have an all out blue wiht them and keep us all entertained, please?

Garlic - nom nom nom - drooling as I'm down to my last few skerricks.

Yep - get your soil right and you're set ... although do have to keep it moist but not wet (mulch is great) and they don't like competition, so no companion planting and keep the weeds at bay (mulch is great).

Plant pre frost - garlic doesn't mind frost at all and, in fact, lives quite happily in the snow of Europe and North America. Some varieties need near zero nights to start growing. We've got all three of our varieties in now and they're going great - although the last two were slow coming through as the weather has been unseasonably balmy.

Go awesome with some wagyu beef - butter garlic sauce with mash and steak - yummo!

The supermarket stuff goes mushy as it's been sitting in cold store for anything up to two years ... blergh ... better to simply go without for a few months - or grow your own/find a local farmer as "spring" garlic is now available

sigh - how? - it's not that hard to grow (although the weather is buggering our drying the last few years) ... overwatering is just as bad as underwatering, not harvesting at the right time, not drying correctly ...

Unfortunately, my home town is full of predominantly Wannabes from Sydney. Driving around in prestige 4WD's that have never been off road. Coupled with this we have novices using boat ramps with absolutely no idea how to launch and retrieve their boat and constantly having to be instructed how to do so, which holds everybody else up that actually knows what they are doing.
Great for the town in how much they spend; but my guess it's all on the credit card to keep up with Jones'. Come on February! Talk is cheap.
