Lately i have been losing money going out with friends to RSL and Leagues Clubs mostly playing poker machines.

I started winning then lost...today i lost $30 which im not happy about and unfortunately i did take my friend Moshe to the Easts Leagues Club at Bondi to show him how to play..he won $50 and put it back in and lost $5 .
He is very upset with me and was crying in the toilets at Bondi Easts Club.

The good thing is they give u free coffee and drinks if your playing..you just press a bell and they come to you and deliver free your drinks.
This is my first year going to these places and the poker machine areas are fill of senior citizen people.

Does anyone go regularly to Clubs ??
I notice in the Country areas the local." Club" is the meeting and social.place for the whole town.

I had about 12 cappuncinos ( i took the sugars home) and Moshe had about 8 glases of sprite so i guess we got some of our money back.

What else is there do to in these places but gamble ?
These places are just mini Star City Casino's .

They do have a coffee shop area so i guess you could pretend to play the pokies and order a free coffee and then take it to the sitting area .:D

What happened to the social activities , the bingo , the entertaners, free shows etc , doesnt appear anythung at Easts Leagues Club nor City of Sydney RSL

And where are the discount meals they used to have... Paddington RSL bistro meals start from $18.50 for a bangers and mash !!!
Today after Moshe went home ( and i believe he' s in bed right now 6.45pm recovering from losing money on the pokies) I went up to the bistro in the Easts Leagues... Couldnt believe the prices ... Members $19.50 for spaghetti bolognese or non members $22.50 !!!

I was shocked and lucky Moshe didnt come upstairs to the bistro with me because there would of been a scene as he would of called them "robbers" ,,!
    Outrageous prices !!!!:(

Also are you really struggling that much that you need to save the sugar for home? Not to mention the state you must have been after 12 coffees! (Who even tries that?!)

    Hilarious!

@darlinghurstsboy is going against the grain, he's a rebel - taking sugar when the rest of us have given up.

If Moshe dropped his wallet in Oxford Street would he have a smile on his face?

I go to clubs to go to eat at restaurants, ranging from buffets to Chinese Yum Cha. I never "invested" in their pokies.

Was in Bundy once and saw the hilarious situation of a very inebriated pensioner at the local trying to shove the rest of his half eaten kebab into the note section of the poker machine.

First the meat, then some lettuce and then the pita until the alarms started going off. Said the machine had taken everything he had, might as well take his dinner too...

According to one specific local their beloved brewery is not closing, but who knows

I like to liberate single serve things like sugar from restaurants and toiletries from hotels. They come in handy for camping.

You'd have to drag me into any club kicking and screaming. I'd rather stick needles in my eyes.
