Sure do, but all correspondence/bills get sent to me. They can't be trusted ;)
Do yours have authority to pay rates/water out of your account or comes out of the rent?

All bills get paid from the rent.

That is really interesting. I don't find it a hassle to pay the rates and utilities but I can see why you would do it this way. We just signed up with our agent so I will see how they go with everything else before I take this approach.

It can vary depending on the property.

We own a triplex that we pay for the maintenance of the gardens and in that case we hold them.

If the tenant is on a 6 month lease then we hold them (just in case they leave)

If the tenant is on a 12 month lease then they get them.

Never heard of council dump tickets. I can book council pick-ups once a month, but that requires me to ring council and organise it. Haven't had a tenant yet that has utilised it.

Some council give you a voucher or two allowing a fixed amount of rubbish to be left at their tip so you take said rubbish and pay nothing if a voucher is produced.

Other councils have a fixed callout removal of rubbish where like you your organise the address with the council and others maintain the old fixed two days a year where all residents leave their rubbish on the footpath.

We don't get tickets or a council pick up in Canberra.

We can take our green waste to a private company adjacent to the tip for free.

I recently did a Reno in Adelaide and took lots of things to the tip, couldn't believe how expensive it was. Canberra was a bargain in comparison.

You still have your load weighed and have to pay a fair bit for normal waste at the tip in Canberra though don't you?

Don't think it gets weighed, just a fixed fee depending on the type of vehicle. Still not even remotely close to the cost of a trip to the tip in Adelaide.

Hmm, I went for a trip out there (Mugga Lane) with a trailer load after doing some work with a friend a few years ago, had it weighed and he had to pay. It may have changed more recently.
