    Hi all,

Need to replace an old model LG LD-12AW2 Dishwasher in my IP and am looking for recommendations as to those with experience as to which to get striking a balance between cost and durability.

    Thanks in advance

    Tony

I'm a big fan of Westinghouse lately. Have had some terrible times with the not so cheap Smeg so really happy with the much cheaper and bigger Westinghouse.

I was told by a few people who sell dishwashers that Dishlex rarely come back, work well and are quite reliable.

We've had both Dishoex and Westinghouse with no problems until they died of old age, around 12-15 years.

If you want one for home I highly recommend Bosch, amazing machines. They are too expensive for IP's though!

i have a Miele at home and Bosch in my IP's. When the Miele gives up i will be replacing it with a Bosch.

this was recommended best buy by CHOICE.
    • Bosch SMS40E08AU $999
and this one wasn't too far down the list for a cheapy
    • Haier HDW13G1W $492

I'd second the Dishlex. They seem pretty decent for a good price.

The Westinghouse WSF6606 gets good reviews and is generally under $700.

I bought a BEKO DSFN4630W two years ago $497. From JB HIFI Took the extended warranty for $109 which gave me 5 years warranty and I've had no hassles. If there are any it's all covered.

If you get a move on now, you may have a replacement in time for replacement.

I always go with Haier Dishwashers and Stoves in rentals these days after getting some advice from a mate who sells them. I have also put some Haier split Air Conditioners in as well and no dramas at all with them so far....touch wood :) Was told they own the Fisher Paykel brand

    Anybody have one of these?

    ComfortLift | Electrolux Australia

I like the idea of the lifting lower tray. (Good for anybody with a bad back).
I also want the cutlery tray - the dishwasher at work has this and now I like that feature
The dishwasher has to be very quiet.
Partner would like that it opens in the last part of the cycle so the dishes can dry naturally.

I thought I would resurrect this thread as we need a new dishwasher in an IP. This will be the fourth dishwasher since 2007, so the third replacement.

First replacement was a Fisher and Paykel DW60CSW1 ($879 supplied and installed) which lasted from March 2008 - December 2012.

Second replacement was a Dishlex DX103SK ($880 supplied and installed). The circuit board has now failed (and handle broken). We are a bit over Electrolux as we had a battle with them over a warranty claim when the fan forced element went on a new oven within the two year extended warranty period. They wouldn't honour the warranty because they were not contacted and Pearson Sellwood (a Brisbane firm) who supplied and installed the new oven did the repair. Pearson Sellwood blamed the PM blah blah blah... It took a complaint to QLD consumer affairs area to have Electrolux pay the repair bill.

I will do some research but any recommendations?
