    Hi All,

This thread is a little off topic however it seemed like the best place to post.

My husband and I can not agree on where to build our dream home. I want to build near Castlemaine Victoria because I love the town, it is near my Mum and only an hour train ride to the city. My husband says it's too dry and wants to live around Toolangi State Forest, Kinglake or Jamieson, but for me it is too cold, too far and too much fire danger.

Does anyone have any experience of living around Toolangi?

    Thanks for the vote Dave.
Yeah we currently live in Warrandyte however we live in the worst house on the best street and because we put our money towards property development (we have completed one two build project and have just bought another property) we don't have the spare cash to fix up our own house. And we have a lot of money tied up in the Warrandyte property as prices are going through the roof.
If I was going to move further out, Castlemaine gets my vote.

Castlemaine. What sort of new build are you considering?

Our criteria is an excellent view (we have that in Warrandyte) and enough land so we don't see our neighbours, so a few acres at the very least, probably more like 5 or 10. The house is evolving. Maybe off grid with big water tanks. Solar passive. 4 bedroom so friends and family can come and stay.
