    Hi All:

My post doesn't really relate to the property itself. However it is regarding the road right outside my PPOR, at the front. The road is really ill maintained and full of potholes. If it rains a little bit, water gets stuck and also the surface of the road is not leveled with the curb which causes wear and tear of the tyres of the car parked at the front. It gets really messy when it rains. I have also attached a picture below.

How do you normally handle scenarios like these? Shouldn't I complain to the council? I have lived in many councils across Melbourne, and this is the first time I have experienced such bad road condition in a residential area.

Any help will be much appreciated.

    Thanks
    DU

Report to your council online with photos.

Water is one of the main causes of surface degradation. Report any pot holes or cracks.

But no one can get the road surface perfectly matched to the curb. They are different materials. Be realistic.

And rake up the leaves and put them in your green bin so they don’t block drains.

Doesn't look that bad to me. Maybe a photo in dry conditions without debris might be best.

I know can't be perfect match. What I mean is the road surface got so eroded that you can see the difference in level.

Yes that's done now. This was taken when it rained and water got stuck.

Ok will try when we have few rain free days.

I will try to raise this with council, online. Thanks for the replies

To attract attention to the potholes perhaps you could write a song about them :)

Looks better then most of the Qld roads outside of the south east.
Raise the issue with council if you feel it’s a problem

Yeah when we were young living in a cave up a dirt track , we could only dream of having a kerb and gutter :)

To begin with, keep the gutter clear of leaves and allow the water to flow away.

Sorry but can you explain how a parked car has wear & tear of the tyres?
They may get dirty due to the pothole & some grit but don’t think any extra wear & tear.

Looks like a pretty standard road to me. Take a photo without rain.
Come up to Sydney and see some of our local roads and you'll never complain again.

I'm not sure you will have any luck in getting the council to act on this any time soon. If it were actually in a bad state, I have a few tricks up my sleeve to get them fixing it next day.

Yeah, I'd love to know this too. Tyres are designed for pretty rough, uneven surfaces

Some are - some are designed for pretty smooth surfaces, high grip & high speeds (a la R specs &/or slicks for racetracks).;)
Maybe the OP parked their racecar on the street?:)
