Difference between planning application and subdivision application

    This is not really legal issue. I am trying to understand the norms.

    I have purchased an off the plan apartment in Melbourne which is almost nearing completion now. I have been trying to keep an eye on what's happening with the council approvals. Upon searching in council website, I found following things:

    1. The property has 1 subdivision application
    Application Description Subdivide the Land into Fifteen (15) Lots
    Status: Statement of Compliance
    Decision
    Decision
    Decision Date
    Certification and Statement of Compliance 12/05/2016


    2. But, there are 5 planning applications with all different status:

    a.
    Application Description - The construction of a building and to construct and carry out works - A reduction in parking - Waiver of the loading bay requirement generally in accordance with the endorsed plans.
    Status: Condition 1 Plans Assessment
    Decision
    Decision Date
    Permit Issued 25/08/2014
    Refused 25/02/2014


    b.
    Application Description - The construction of a building and to construct and carry out works - A reduction in parking - Waiver of the loading bay requirement generally in accordance with the endorsed plans.

    Anyone can explain me what could be the meaning of all these applications and their status. It is pretty confusing.

    It means your apartment is ready and awaiting subdivision (most likely).

    Applications a.b.d.e refers to Developer attempting to make amamndemets to original permit.

    You won't have to worry abt that..

    Congratulations!!!! You will have your new apartment in couple of weeks.

    Hope so. I called my real estate agent yesterday. He said, settlement will be somewhere in mid of June which is perfect for me as my present rental lease is till July 15.

    Aside that, I believe, the amended planning permits has to be approved to get OC right? I believe a,b,d,e are also important in that way. Am I right?
