    Hi There,

Looking at established properties in Brisbane with the idea of knocking down in a few years for redevelopment into duplex or townhouses.

Just wondering what the typical M2 required to build a Duplex/townhouse is roughly 7-10KM from the CBD?

The end product will depend on the zoning of the land and council. For BCC (brisbane city council), duplexes are prohibited, however you can achieve a similar result via subdivision in LDR zones or LMR zones (townhouses and units) via strata. Its an expensive exercise to do so however so you need to consider all the costs, not just assume its a great strategy based on the end value and purchase price. It can take a while to understand the lingo and acronyms.
