We're about to renovate our PPOR and have several potential ways of doing . We'll get someone to draw up a plan , but was wondering if there are any standard formats used within the industry .

Most files are saved in *.dwg format iirc (Autodesk)

Most of the drawing applications will save and open the standard format (Autocad) as SNM says dwg

I have not used the software for a long time now, but you can probably import image files as a background to draw over them, if you can do that there are a lot of decent free android apps for 2d floor plans and 3d apps as well.

I use floor plan creator on a Android tablet.

Sort of similar to this thread - we are currently renovating and furnishing a place to put on Airbnb.

As part of this we need to do a floor plan and then a layout for the furniture.

I've asked before - but what software would you suggest to do this with ?

Need something simple to produce a basic floor plan and the hopefully position furniture with that plan.

We have done the painter's tape on the floor but also wanted a visual on what works.

Do a search for floorplan, and try some of them, lot of people like Autocad etc.

    It is time consuming.
