Defence Force buying land in Townsville

    Have the inside tip that the Defence Force has been acquiring significant amounts of land to expand the Townsville base. Adding a few thousand soldiers to the area will be good for the local economy and employment. Anyone have any further knowledge of what they're doing up there?

    I know someone who is trying to sell in Townsville ,not flood affected but internal water damaged all fixed by Suncorp ---and it's been on the market for a few months now..

    I've had a look through REA.com and RP Data, seem to be a few properties hanging around. Wasn't uncommon to see 200 days - 300 days, One property I saw was 730 days on market.

    That's the problem with flood it takes several years for all the drama to go away,1000-2000 US Marines may help..
