What if the pests remain after 3-6 months? I reported plenty of pests when I was a tenant at a previous residence and they did nothing for 3 months and then told me it was my problem

It goes from the time it was reported, so it should have been a landlord expense to remove.

Guessing this is the place in the hills amongst the trees.

Get your hubby to climb up in the ceiling with a torch and thoroughly hunt around for any critters live or dead.

Block any access holes with chicken wire.

Ever tried Airtasker - someone might do it for $50....but given its in the roof and an amateur may put his leg through your ceiling, suggest you just get one of those pest guys.

We had a possum die in our roof when I was a kid. The smell lasts for a good couple of months, then you have to paint the ceiling to cover up the (ex)-possum juices.

So the answer is ----- introduce a couple of flies into your roof cavity and wait a week,The complaint will cease as smell disappears (as will the carcass of the animal that died in the roof).

Ignore any tenant complaint about a inordinate number of flies around the property in the week or so moving forward.

Note, make sure the roof has no hole.
Rat died in our roof when I was young, and my poor sister got the big present of maggots falling from the ceiling...

Been through this one. Won't go into the details....but a scoop was necessary.

We used to catch and release them but they always return. So for possums, you need to seal the entry point.

Just had a tenant complaining of noise from some kind of creature in the roof.
Sent someone out, couldn't find anything.
Hope it has the decency to crawl out before it dies.
