    All,

Does anyone have a good source for ceiling fans, and what experience you have had with warranty and function etc?

    Currently looking at this:

Oil-Rubbed Bronze and Rich Timber Brilliant Mercury 52" Timber Ceiling Fan

But was hoping to find a model with a Light.

This is what can be supplied through the builder, but at about 500/piece with light fitting, will see what the builder quotes them for.

Also, should I stick to 132cm fans or would 182cm be too big for 3m x 3m rooms?

Would a fan such as these be too overpowering in a room with grey walls and white trim? Thinking of running warm dark tones for the roller blinds also.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Regards,
    Arc

I do not like fans with lights, to me I think they look tacky and cheapens the room

How do you get around in regards to lighting the room? I would like to go the first fan.

On a 3 x 3 room I think 132 is absolutely fine - it will do a good job even on a larger room.

My go to fan is the Ventair Spyda - I really should buy stocks I reccommend this fan so often. I like it for price, ability to have a light (if the room is small and I don't want the blades messing with downlights) and that it can also be used outside in alfrescos.

They make a dark wood model with light that is around $325-350 retail Spyda - Ventair

    Holding, PPOR.

    Excellent, thanks so much.

The rooms are small, 2.8x3, 3x3, 2.8x3.5 and 3.4x3.8. I couldnt think how to light them without the fan interrupting the lighting solution.

Yup downlights and fans don't play well in small rooms so it's nice when you can find a fan that has a decent light for bedrooms.

Couple of downlights, but not in the arc of the fan unless you like strobe lighting.

Will be going ducting, but I like Fans in bedrooms instead of having the ducting running all the time etc.

I also prefer the fan to be the same colour as the ceiling ... usually white ... otherwise it sticks out like dogs you-know-what's

I had been thinking about getting some ceiling fans - dark wood with a light - but hadn't got around to it. Then my neighbour told me he was thinking about doing the same and he asked me if I could recommend any. I said, 'Chris you're retired. And I know you like to research stuff. Go inside and do your thing.'
We both ended up buying two of these. They are very good:

Here are a couple. They're well designed and well made. The room one of them is in has lots of dark joinery that I built, so it works well. A dark timber fan in a white room would look odd.
The best fans are the Haiku ones:

    Very expensive, though.
