    Hi Folks,

Has anyone here recently been to VCAT for a development proposal?

Just finished the advertising period for an inner city development and was notified yesterday that we received 4 objections for the proposal.

I think that the architect + town planner have done their homework and put together a solid application.

Having looked at one of the objections, it feels very much like a case of nimbyism vs legitimate objections in reference to the planning scheme.

From what I've heard, council have been supportive of the application for some time.
Just trying to plan ahead if it ends up going to VCAT.

I know there was a blow-out in hearings last year, but wasn't sure what the current wait time is.
Anyone been through the process recently?

    Around 4-6 months
But you might find that objectors won't appeal - VCAT costs increased as wiped out a lot of minor appeals due to increased lodging fees

    Hi Opal,

I am doing 8 apartments in Northcote that I had approved end of last year.
In total their were 32 objectors and a couple who spoke on everyone's behalf at the planning meeting.
No one took me to vcat.

    Good luck
    Johnny
