i always love exploring new areas in Sydney.. And seeing different types of Cultures, trying new restaurants etc .
What are some Suburbs in your area that are Little India or Little Saigon etc

Here is some in Sydney and NSW

Vietnamese Community = Cabramatta , great restaurants ,bread shops, ,tourist attraction .
A lot of Units in this area , prices have gone right up over the past few years .

Indonesian = Kingsford area , a lot of Indonesian restaurants, bookshops, indonesian supermarkets

Arabic , Middle Eastern= Lakemba known for its mosques, halal supermarkets .

We used to have a Little Italy being Leichardt but i think that has now changed a lot .

Korean = Korean community make up a lot of Strathfield area as well as Eastwood , Korean supermarkets etc as well as karaoke and internet cafes make up the Strathfield area.

Hong Kong Chinese - Chatswood on Sydney s North Shore is fast growing to be of the elite Chinese Community .

Indian the Indian Community have a lot of great restaurants in Harris Park , i think this would be one if the fastest growing Indian areas.

Persian the Persian Community are around the North Shore of Sydney at Forestville and Inglesid e where the big Community Church is .but I dont know about Persian restaurants .

    Woolgoolga / Sikh Community
Up on the North Coast of NSW the Sikh community make up this area full of banana plantations .

Jewish of course Bondi makes up a great part of the Jewish Community with many shops and Synagogues.
It is said that St Ives on the upper North Shore is made up of a lot of the South African Jewish Community.

Any other areas in Sydney ?
What about your City, I would be interested to know what Communities make up the Suburbs.

Calling Woolgoolga the upper north Shore is stretching the friendship but there a sikh temple at Wenty on the M4.

There's a Persian restaurant in Lane Cove (& Armenian enclave in Willoughby North - great kebabs)

Eat street in Crows Nest or Glebe Point Rd has every cuisine desired.

Haberfield has replaced Leichhardt for Italian.

Pretty much all of Darwin...Just about to head out the market with Greek cakes, Vietnamese rolls, Thai soups, crocodile fillets, Cambodian jerky, Italian pizza, sri Lankan egg hoppers, lao salads, thai stir frys, Indian curries and heaps more.

I've never lived in a more multicultural town.

Now if you'll excuse me, breakfast is served... :)

The Jews can't claim Bondi to themselves! What about the Irish and kiwi's'! Every watering hole is filed with them

Armenians have a big community in the Ryde area. There is a church nearby.

Persians don't really stick together the way other communities do. Though lots around the hills district. As a half persian heavily surrounded by the community, i can't say i have met many if any persian christians (I'm not muslim either).

3 persian restaurants in Auburn, and many many more popped up last few years. The ones in Lane Cove, City and Crows Nest area are more for partys. Average food, super expensive, you don't go there for good persian food.

Try Fairfield, or Persian Chef in Tarramurra (never been to that one).

I never understood why people drank iced tea but recently observed some locals filling the empty bottles from their goon bags. Excellent colour match for a quiet drink at the park ;)

@bob shovel No mate. We only claim the penthouses and mansions above 5mil. FYI go to Worseley Road, Point Piper (most expensive street in Australia) and count how many mansions have mezuzahs on their door posts :p:D:oops:

Vietnamese is Mansfield Park/Athol Park near the Arndale shopping centre. Besides some Vietnamese restaurants the area is known for street hookers and junkies. Cambodians live north usually around Paralowie/Burton. Italians live in Campbelltown/Norwood. Chinese like living in the Eastern suburbs.

Funny you mention Rosebay ...we just came from driving around that area. ..just waiting for the luxury markets to take a hit again and then we plan to buy overlooking the harbour bridge with water views. Seems rosebay has always lagged neighboring suburbs. ..
