To cut a long story short, in light of recent data breaches with an online recruitment service provider Pageup, whom was used for a few of my job applications in the last few years.
I decided to order order another yearly credit file report from Brad & Dunstreet to check if i have been a victim of identity fraud.
Between this years report (done today) and last years NAB has accessed my credit file over 7 times in the year 2017.
Thankfully i have no Authorised Agent Enquiries.
I hold no credit cards with NAB nor have i made any home loan applications or applied for line of credit with NAB, only a joint savings account in both my partners name and mine which we set up last year.

My questions to all the mortgage brokers is this, have you seen NAB repeatedly accessing a clients credit file when no other applications have been made?,
All we have done is get insurance quotes for our cars through NAB (comp and third party) and setup the savings account.

Will something like Accesses affect someones credit rating or ability to apply for loan?

I will be following up with NAB to find out exactly why they have accessed my file so much as i have the times, date and Unique Customer Reference for each Access.

    Thank you for your input.

could be part of the new world order of " postive credit reporting"

without seeing the file, hard to gauge - id say no issue

Pls come back and let us know the outcome

Amex for eg will have a look literally every mth.............

I would also ask them to remove the records of them. Ask them to provide evidence of where you authorised them to do access and if they can't then tell them that is a breach of the Privacy Act and you require them to remove them from your credit reports or you will have no choice but to complain to the financial ombudsman.

So, requesting insurance quotes and setting up an account are deemed to be "positive" credit reporting. Is that correct?
