Thinking of having a few days at Cradle Mountain in the winter. Has anyone stayed at Peppers or can you recommend any other accomodation?

Wadheim Alpine Cottages are nice, as is the Lodge and the Hotel.

Best position is Lemonthyme but it's a little small for my liking.

Peppers is meant to be good though - but the reality is, a lot of it is all very similar. The views are all similar, the activities are all similar, just comes down to what you feel reflects what your holiday will be.

if you're driving - allow 6 hours and take chains in winter.

I stayed in a tent. Seriously though, I wouldn't rate cradle mountain being that fantastic in winter?

Yeah, nah. Second thoughts it's a bad idea. I'll give it a go in the summer. Have to look for another winter weekend getaway.

Have you checked out air bnb?

It's all I use now. I've never landed in a bad place - all have been amazing. So far I've used them in Sydney and some US cities and couldn't be happier.

I checked out Tassie places on air bnb last year and there's quite a lot to choose from.

    Cheers

Yes we have stayed in air BnB. I was thinking of the top room in peppers for a couple of nights. Thought I'd push the boat out for a change. But I think I'll keep that for the summer.
The look on my wife's face when she realised that the apartment she thought we'd booked for a night in Newtown turned out to be only a room in a guys apartment with a shared kitchen, bathroom etc.
It'll be whole house from now on!
Wonder if there's an air BnB on Aitutaki?
